Teen charged over Geelong carpark murder
A Tarneit teenager has been charged with murdering a man more than twice his age following a car park attack near Geelong’s most popular beach.

A teenager has been charged with murder over a brutal carpark attack in Geelong.
Homicide Squad detectives today charged an 18-year-old Tarneit man over the murder of a 41-year-old Colac man located with critical injuries at Eastern Beach carpark just before midnight on Monday.
The teen has been remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
A 18-year-old Hillside woman was also interviewed and released by police.
Paramedics were called to treat the man at the scene after receiving reports of an assault.
He was transferred to Geelong Hospital and then moved to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
He died in hospital today.
A crime scene was established and forensic officers paid particular attention to a green wheelie bin located within the carpark.
The investigation continues.
