THE SON of convicted Mafia figure Francesco Madafferi has been charged over an alleged botched home invasion in Melbourne’s northwest.
Giovanni “Johnny” Madafferi was discharged from hospital yesterday and charged over a weekend confrontation which left he and another man badly injured.
Mr Madafferi and the other man have been charged with attempted aggravated burglary and other offences.
It related to a clash at a Kings Park home in which a man claims he defended his home from intruders wearing hoodies and handkerchiefs over their faces.
Mr Madafferi and the other man, both of Deer Park, were remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 21.
His father is serving a 10-year final sentence for his part in the notorious “tomato tins” conspiracy to import 4.4 tonnes of ecstasy into Australia.
