A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed a superintendent from a corporate support area had been suspended “in relation to allegations of firearm and weapons offences”.

The alleged offences took place on June 5.

A spokeswoman for the anti-corruption watchdog IBAC confirmed an “active investigation” was underway.
