VICTORIA’S peak corruption fighting body has charged two senior police officers with more than 20 offences including perjury and misconduct in public office.
The offences, which could lead to jail terms for the inspector and a sergeant, also include obtaining property by deception and theft.

Overall, 23 charges were laid as a result of an independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) investigation codenamed Operation Salina.
The allegations centre on a police officer who fraudulently took possession of a number of properties.
The inspector has been charged with three offences including perjury, making a false or misleading statement and failing to produce a document.
The sergeant has been charged with 20 offences including misconduct in public office, obtaining property by deception and theft.
The sergeant is set front Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 26 this year.
The inspector will face Geelong Magistrates’ Court on February 5 next year.
IBAC has declined to make any further comment.
