Second death in Melbourne nightclub shooting.

Safety fears have prompted the company which handled security at Prahran nightclub Love Machine to tear up its contract after last weekend’s fatal shooting there.

A gunman remains on the run almost a week after bullets were fired into the venue.

The security company has ended its association with the venue out of safety concerns for its personnel.

“The safety of my staff comes first,” a company representative said.

The security company also resigned from South Yarra nightclub Lux recently, with reports bikies had caused issues at the venue.

The Herald Sun was told police warned staff and security to leave Lux in the wake of threats and activities at the venue.

Love Machine and Lux have the same owners.

Security guard Aaron Khalid Osmani died on Sunday as a gunman opened fire from a stolen Porsche SUV. Clubgoer Richard Arow, 28, who was waiting in line, is fighting for his life at The Alfred hospital.

Three others were also hurt in the ambush. The club was supposed to open today but will stay closed until Saturday.

Special nightclub events were scheduled to be held there on Thursday and Friday but were cancelled.

A posting on the venue’s Facebook page said it was closed.

“Due to unforeseen recent events, and out of respect to parties involved, victims and common sensibility, we have decided to reschedule tonight's event,” it said.

Police pledged to leave no stone unturned in the investigation but almost a week on, the killer is still on the loose.

CCTV cameras are understood to have captured the shooting and police have trawled through hours of footage from surrounding shops as they try to unravel what happened.

No arrests have been made.

Victoria Police’s bikie and organised gang taskforce Echo is helping the investigation.

The Porsche was stolen from Dandenong last month and was later found burnt out in the northern Melbourne suburb of Wollert.
