ROBERTA Williams’s son Tye Stephens is set to front court tomorrow after allegedly being caught with a gun and drugs.

It comes as the feud between Roberta Williams and Kathleen Bourke, George Williams’ former partner, was fuelled by the “circus” surrounding his death.

As the Williams arrived at George’s Broadmeadows house, after being notified by a Katandra Crescent neighbour he had suffered a heart attack on May 11, they found more than 30 strangers filming the dying man as paramedics worked on him in the front yard.

Roberta, who remonstrated with Kath at the house, then took her daughters and youngest son to be with George at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where Kath also said her goodbyes.

But the fallout led to conflict between Kath and Roberta around the time of George’s funeral.

But it has also emerged:

• ROBERTA is being sued by Penleigh Essendon Grammar School over fees;

• THE family hired a bodyguard to keep the peace at the funeral;

• A FUNERAL company is demanding outstanding payment for Carl Williams’ funeral, thought to be around $40,000 which the family claim was meant to be paid by Victims of Crime; and

• A GRAVESTONE is also believed to have not been paid for.

Kath Bourke was angry at Roberta over her front gate being kicked open after the Williams’ were locked out of the Broadmeadows house during frantic scenes after George collapsed following installing a new TV.

Kath also made accusations jewellery had been stolen — a claim she would take back after finding the misplaced jewellery.

The claim, however, riled Roberta.

It came as other issues beset the Williams with eldest son Tye Stephens last week being arrested by police over allegedly possessing a gun and drugs.

It is understood he has been in custody for about a week and is expected to front court

on Friday.

Another issue to hit the Williams is Dhakota’s former school, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, suing for outstanding fees.

Meanwhile, the family dispute bubbled.

Kath, 71, left the hospital after George’s life support was turned off.

It bothered Roberta, staying with her children at the hospital until the 68 year old died about 4am.

In George’s original will — before it was changed eight months after his son Carl Williams was murdered in April 2010 — Dhakota was left both houses and Kath $130,000.

It is believed Roberta offered to let Kath stay in the Broadmeadows house.

But in the second will, George left Dhakota the Essendon townhouse and Kath the Broadmeadows home.

Before George died, his former daughter — in — law was set to take out a loan to pay George’s tax bill, which was still being negotiated with the ATO.

It is understood a figure of about $250,000 was being negotiated to settle the debt with the tax man and in return take possession of Essendon, where she has lived for many years.

It is the same house Carl’s mother, Barb, died in 2008.

The ATO has a caveat over the house.

Barb, before her death, had also agreed to leave the house to Dhakota.

The couple’s separation was controversial.

It has caused much family disruption that George began a relationship with Kath.

It is claimed a settlement prior to 2008 between Barb and George left Barb the Essendon home and George ownership of the Broadmeadows house.

Although an agreement was reached it was never put before a court prior to her death.

The arrangement for Roberta to buy the Essendon house fell through with George’s death.

The Williams’ clan have always claimed Kath has coveted George’s perceived assets.

The Williams’ plan to contest George’s Will.

It is likely to be on the basis he was not in a fit state to change his will eight months after Carl was murdered in prison.

In 2013 he began proceedings to sue the government along with Roberta and Dhakota claiming he had been psychologically damaged by his son’s brutal murder.

Controversially, the government drafted a law preventing George and Roberta from being awarded damages since they both had convictions for profiting from crime.

It was dubbed the “Roberta law”.

The payout to Dhakota, who was a young child when her father was killed, was based on the psychological damage caused by the murder of her father.

Dhakota received a six figure sum.
