Gangland widow Roberta Williams wants permission to move house, despite strict bail conditions requiring her to stay put.

She missed her date with a magistrate this morning where she was set to request a bail variation to allow her to change her residential address.

Williams was bailed last month after being charged over a dramatic kidnap and extortion plot involving the would-be producer of her reality TV show.

During the earlier expletive-ridden late night filing hearing, the former wife of slain drug kingpin Carl Williams had pleaded with a magistrate to release her while she and her co-accused awaited their next court appearance.

But there was none of last month’s fiery exchanges as her lawyer fronted the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court without his star client.

The court heard Williams was unable to attend because her son was unwell and asked for a short adjournment until next week.

Her lawyer had attempted to have the bail variation granted in her absence but Magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg said he would not hear the matter without William’s surety present in court.

In August, Magistrate Bob Kumar granted bail on strict conditions including a curfew and daily reporting to police.

She also has to pay a $10,000 surety.

During the bail application the court heard the mother of two threatened her victim, Ryan Naumenko, who was a producer helping her to make her reality TV show, on July 9.

Mr Naumenko told police Williams ordered her three co-accused to “kill the c---” after forcing him to ask relatives to transfer $17,000 to a bank account in two separate transactions.

During the ordeal, Mr Naumenko said his attackers put a bar fridge cord around his neck and repeatedly punched him in the face.

When he tried to text for help, they threatened to cut off his fingers and break his hands, the court heard.

Williams will return to court on September 9 where she will learn if her bid to change her address is successful.
