REMORSELESS wife killer James Ramage finally has come clean to his workmates about his ugly past.

In an email sent to all Dimmey's staff yesterday, Ramage, whose status is given as "general manager", wrote simply: "Please note my change of email address."

The name that appears on the email is James Ramage; previously, it had been James Stuart, the alias the Sunday Herald Sun reported the 53-year-old had been using for about a year, possibly in breach of parole conditions.

Ramage faces the Adult Parole Board this week to explain his actions. If found to have breached parole, he can be returned to jail to serve his remaining parole period of about 18 months.

Ramage killed his wife, Julie, in 2003, after claiming he "lost it" when she wanted to end their marriage of 23 years.

After bashing and strangling the mother of their two children, Ramage bundled her body into the boot of his Jaguar and buried her in a shallow grave in Kinglake.

He beat a murder charge and was convicted of manslaughter instead, after successfully arguing provocation. He was sentenced to 11 years' jail, with a minimum non-parole term of eight years.

Dimmey's denies Ramage is employed by the company.

But the Herald Sun has seen an organisational chart that lists Ramage as its general manager. He is the most senior person in the company after directors Doug and Luke Zappelli.

Ramage hung up the phone when he was contacted by the Herald Sun yesterday.

Ramage was paroled last year and has returned to his flashy lifestyle.

He is running companies, drives a Porsche convertible and is in a relationship with a woman who has children of her own.

The widely condemned provocation defence that was successfully used by Ramage has since been abolished.
