Notorious killer rapist Raymond ‘Mr Stinky’ Edmunds has confessed to a further four brutal rapes during burglaries more than three decades ago.

The 74-year-old, who is serving life sentences for the 1966 murders of two teenagers in Shepparton, pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates Court today to four counts of rape.

The vile sex fiend also said “Guilty, your honour” to six other charges: false imprisonment, three counts of indecent assault and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

The offending relates to nine female victims across suburban Melbourne between 1971 and 1984 — before he was arrested in 1985 over the murders of Abina Madill, 16, and Garry Heywood, 18.

Ms Madill and Mr Heywood disappeared from a rock and roll dance in Shepparton in February 1966.

Their bodies were found 16 days later some 30km away in Murchison East.

The man dubbed ‘Mr Stinky’ due to his foul body odour was also known as ‘The Donvale Rapist’ for a series of rapes he was convicted of in the 1970s and early ‘80s.

In January, following a DNA breakthrough and extensive investigation, police charged Edmunds with a further 31 offences relating to historic rapes and burglaries.

But the prosecution today withdrew 21 charges, including 10 burglary-related offences in a plea deal with the double murderer.

Court documents reveal Edmunds raped and indecently assaulted a woman in her Clayton home in February 1984.

In 1977, he attacked four women in their homes: three in Wheelers Hill and another in Edithvale.

Edmunds also indecently assaulted a woman in Wheelers Hill in October 1976, and falsely imprisoned another victim in Greensborough in September 1973.

A year earlier, in August 1972, he assaulted a woman causing grievous bodily harm at Donvale.

He also admitted involvement in the rape of a woman in Donvale in July 1971.

Magistrate Andrew Capell refused the Herald Sun access to a prosecution summary of the circumstances of his offending.

He remanded Edmunds to face a pre-sentence hearing in the County Court on September 11.
