AN alleged drunk motorist has driven a car into two vehicles and crashed into fencing during a terrifying road rage incident in Port Melbourne this evening.
Witnesses captured footage of a black Astra smashing into cars waiting at a red light near Plummer and Prohasky streets during peak hour.
The car reversed more than 50m down the street before hitting a fence.
People crowded around the car as they waited for police to arrive.
Victoria Police spokesman Sergeant Adam West said the 61-year-old Deer Park man was administered a preliminary breath test and attended a local police station for a second evidentiary test. He said the man was expected to be charged with drink driving and other traffic offences.
He also confirmed the driver received minor injuries and nobody else was hurt.
In the footage, the driver appeared extremely intoxicated as police removed him from the car. It took officers several attempts to get him into the back of a police van.
