A scrub fire that broke out at a popular Cheltenham park and burnt an acre of land in just under an hour has been deemed suspicious.
MFB and CFA crews last night responded to calls that trees were on fire near the Park Rd oval, however strong winds meant the fire grew quickly.

The fire burnt almost one acre of land before it was declared under control after 54 minutes.
Police will attend the scene this morning to investigate the cause.
