MORE than 100 cannabis plants have been seized in a drug bust in Melbourne’s north.
Police burst in to a Coburg property shortly before 10am as part of an investigation into the illegal marijuana trade.
Officers allege they found 116 cannabis plants in the house which they said had been turned into a hydroponic grow house.
Fawkner Divisional Response Unit’s Acting Detective Sergeant Lee Cervai said: “By executing warrants and seizing cannabis crops we aim to hurt illegal growers in the hip pocket and prosecute those found cultivating narcotic plants.”
The house was unoccupied at the time of the search.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersvic.com.au
