Second man charged after terrifying Point Cook shooting

A MAN who spent several days on the run from police after a Point Cook shooting has been charged.

Police arrested a 32-year-old Wyndham Vale man yesterday afternoon after shots were fired in Adelphi Boulevard on Monday.

He was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and possessing a firearm.

The man was remanded to appear in Sunshine Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Police yesterday charged a 27-year-old South Melbourne man with possessing ammunition and proceeds of crime and drug-related offences.

He was scheduled to front court yesterday but refused to leave the remand cells.

Terrified residents were told to lock their doors after shots rang out in Adelphi Boulevard just after 5.30pm on Monday.

Heavily armed Special Operations Group officers descended on the Soho Village precinct as the shooting unfolded.

Adelphi Boulevard resident Debbie Richards said on Monday: “I spoke to a policeman who said that there was a shooting in one of the apartments at Soho Village and that they were looking for the gunman,” she said.

“The victim wasn’t killed thankfully.”
