POLICE officers have been ordered to be on high alert as two bikie gangs get set for an all-out war in Victoria.
An email sent out to police across the state warns that violence between the Rebels and Comancheros is escalating and retribution is expected.
It comes after a fight between high-level members of both gangs at a hotel in Dandenong last month, which was followed by a fire at a Rebels clubhouse eight days later.
Police have been told to exercise caution when dealing with bikies from the clubs because they are “likely to be in possession of firearms or other weapons”.

The email sent out to police officers late last month was done so on the orders of Assistant Commissioner Stephen Fontana, who is responsible for overseeing high-level specialist investigations aiming at serious and organised crime across Victoria.
The Echo Taskforce is investigating the recent incidents.
In the email message, police were warned to be mindful of the current situation when interacting with bikies from both clubs.
“Members are also reminded that with heightened tensions between the clubs, OMCG members are likely to be in possession of firearms or other weapons,” the email stated.
The Herald Sun can reveal that:
THE Rebels clubhouse in Dandenong was specifically hit on a date when members of the gang were on a organised club run to Albury/Wodonga;
AFTER more than a year of peace between the gangs, a confrontation between “high-level members” of both groups, in which weapons were brandished and serious threats made, happened on October 5;
DAYS later, on October 7, a brawl between several members of the gangs occurred at the Dandenong Pavillion Hotel; and
POLICE believe the Rebels are preparing to retaliate after the fire at their clubhouse, in which several vehicles belonging to high-level club members were also destroyed.
The day after the fire, more than 40 Rebels members were seen returning to Melbourne from their run on the Bolte Bridge.
Police had brokered a peace deal between the two gangs at a meeting in Sydney in May 2015.
Friction between the two bikie clubs began when Comancheros boss Mick Murray was involved in a confrontation with Rebels bikies while on holiday in Darwin last year.
There was a brawl in a local strip club involving Murray and local Rebels.
The Comancheros bikies allegedly responded by sending an interstate team which used baseball bats to attack Rebels Darwin president Jax Smith in retaliation.
