GUN-TOTING bandits are believed responsible for a series of armed robberies on innocent people in Melbourne’s outer north.
The men are linked to three incidents in the Epping area last month.
In the latest on June 10 about 9pm two wearing balaclavas and gloves approached a couple sitting in a car in the Duffy St Reserve carpark and threatened them with handguns.
They made off with a wallet, handbag and mobile phone.
The initial robbery occurred near the Epping Football Club in Park St on June 5 about 1.30am when two male offenders approached three men sitting in a vehicle.
The bandits produced handguns and demanded the men’s wallets and mobile phones.
About 2.50am the same day another victim walking in Keon Pde, Reservoir, near a bus stop was forced to hand over his mobile phone and backpack when three men drove up to him in a white 4WD.
One of the robbers, wearing a balaclava and beanie, produced a gun and demanded the property.
Detectives from Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit believe the armed robberies are linked.
The driver was perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance and aged about 20, with dark wavy hair to his chin.
