A WOMAN is in custody after allegedly threatening to injure nursing staff at a Melbourne hospital with a taser. Police say she may face charges over the incident.

A WOMAN is in custody after allegedly threatening to injure nursing staff at a Melbourne hospital with a taser.
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre called a code black after the woman allegedly made threats toward hospital staff about 6.30pm.

HOSPITALS BEEF UP SECURITY AFTER ATTACK
Police swarmed the hospital and took the woman into custody.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said she may be charged with possessing a prohibited weapon.
Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre spokesman Danny Rose said the hospital has “zero tolerance for threats” against staff.
“Police were called to Peter Mac this evening after nursing staff reported a verbal threat,” he said.
“A person claimed to have a taser; however, this was not sighted or used. The person was removed from the hospital and this is now a matter for police.”
