Notorious au pair Samantha Azzopardi will be forced to give police a DNA sample and have her photo taken.

The Bendigo Magistrates’ Court heard this morning that the 31-year-old remained in hospital following her arrest last week.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Dave Rennie said Ms Azzopardi had refused to have her picture taken.

She is charged with two counts of child stealing, stating a false name and having stolen goods, after she was nabbed with two girls in Bendigo Myer on Friday.

The girls, aged four and 10 months, were returned to their parents uninjured.

“Ms Azzopardi is refusing to have her photo taken or to have a DNA sample taken,” Sen Const. Rennie told the court today.

“(A) lot of outstanding matters would possibly be resolved if she was forced to provide that information.”

Magistrate Ross Betts granted a “compulsory procedure” order that will force Ms Azzopardi to have her photo taken and give DNA sample.
