CCTV footage has provided new clues to the Doncaster murder of David Dick, as police continue their hunt for his older brother.
The footage shows a man who is believed to be wanted man Jonathan Dick walking down Wamba Road in Ivanhoe East about an hour after the stabbing murder of his 36-year-old brother on February 3rd.
Local Doug Scott contacted CrimeStoppers after reviewing his home security footage and noticing a man of similar appearance to Jonathan.
“I rang CrimeStoppers and told them I thought I had footage of the guy walking past,” he told Nine News.
Earlier this week detectives discovered a car believed to belong to the suspect parked in the same residential street near where the footage was taken.
A resident in Wamba Road where the 1997 blue Ford Fairmont sedan was found told the Herald Sun he noticed it on Sunday or Monday last week.
Police have reportedly searched nearby parts of the Yarra River as part of their investigation.
The new CCTV comes more than a week after David, a carpenter and popular suburban cricketer, was attacked about 6.10am as he walked through a car park to catch a bus to work.
Jonathan, who has a mental health disorder, is believed to be the same man captured on shopping centre CCTV a day before the attack.
Police had suspected the Seymour man was travelling to NSW or Queensland.
