MURDER accused Borce Ristevski is expected to be placed under the most rigorous scrutiny the prison system can offer as he awaits trial.
Authorities will be eager to ensure the safety of the man accused of one of the most high-profile murders in Victorian history.
Mr Ristevski is currently in a high security section of the corrections system after he was charged with the murder of his wife Karen on Wednesday morning.

The case’s notoriety has the potential to make Mr Ristevski a target for other prisoners trying to make a name for themselves.
It is believed he will be in a largely isolated regimen with limited “run-out” times spent away from his cell.

Jail authorities are expected to decide in the coming weeks where Mr Ristevski is to be settled.
His next court appearance is not until April next year, and matters could potentially stretch into 2019.
It is unclear whether police are considering taking action against anyone else.
The Herald Sun understands that investigators had only one main suspect and relatives said they were assured earlier this year there was only one person in police sights.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty would not comment on whether the case remained open, including whether police were considering charging anyone else in connection to Mrs Ristevski’s death.
“As the matter is now before the courts, we will not be commenting on the matter,” Ms Batty said.
