ARMED teenagers have threatened an Uber driver in a violent Elwood carjacking, before taking his car on a 70km joy ride to Healesville.
The driver had stopped at the BP service station on Marine Parade about 1am to use the toilet when the teens struck.
“The victim of the alleged armed robbery, a 37-year-old Broadmeadows man, told police that a group of teenagers, possibly three boys and one female, armed with knives, threatened him before taking his keys and driving away in his car,” police spokeswoman Creina O’Grady.
The victim’s white Toyota Camry was then taken on a 70km joy ride, before it crashed in Healesville, with police arresting the teenagers two hours later.
They are currently being interviewed by detectives.
The teenagers, a 14-year-old from Ashwood, two 15-year-old boys, from Altona Meadows and Elsternwick and a 16-year-old Werribee girl are expected to be charged with armed robbery, theft of motor car and weapon offences.
