A jilted lover has allegedly stabbed another man in Albion on Sunday morning forcing him to run naked for help.

Police were called to the scene on Talmage St home after a 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

It is understood that the altercation broke out between a woman’s former and current partner, after the jilted lover allegedly forced entry into the home about 5.30am.

Police said in a statement that two men were interviewed by police after “presenting themselves” at a police station.

Detective senior sergeant Simon Karp told Channel 7 that the stabbing was “spur of the moment”.

“I think it was a spur of the moment thing when he’s found out a new partner on the scene,” he said.

A woman was also home at the time and was not injured.

Blood could be seen in the driveway of the Talmage St units, from where the attacker allegedly fled after stabbing the man in the upper body.
