Police have arrested three men and are speaking to a fourth over a violent weekend clash at the MCG.

A 36-year-old Diggers Rest man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with affray.

He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on August 19.

Two other men, a 41-year-old and a 20-year-old from Rosebud, were arrested today.

Both are facing an affray charge and were bailed to appear at the same court on August 16.

The charges relate to a fight which broke out within the stadium shortly before the final siren during Saturday’s Collingwood vs Carlton match.

A fourth man handed himself in to Mill Park police station after police issued an image from the match. He is assisting with police inquiries.

Victoria Police Commander Tim Hansen said people will be held accountable for their actions.

“Anyone found to be drunk, assaulting someone or engaging in an affray at sporting matches can expect to be arrested by police and put before the court,” he said.

Violent fans can expect to be banned from attending games, he said.

“Upon conviction, police will consider making an application for Exclusion Orders which can see people banned from licenced premises for two years,” said Cmd Hansen.
