A CHIRNSIDE Park man is fighting for life after being hit by a car while driving a ride-on lawnmower in Somerton.
The 54-year-old was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition with lower back injuries after the crash shortly after 8am today.

Police say a Ford collided with the mower at a roundabout on Austrak Drive.
The 19-year-old driver of the sedan was not injured.
He was arrested at the scene and later charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, driving with a suspended licence and other traffic related offences.
The Meadow Heights man was due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
