TWO men have listened in court as the man who murdered their wife and mother spoke just two words in confessing his crime.
Sigaragh Baea, 21, has pleaded guilty to murdering Prasad Somawansa, 48, in her Hoppers Crossing home in February.
Baea, of Lara, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court via videolink today to enter the plea.
The court previously heard Mrs Somawansa’s son, an SES commander, had been with his mother minutes before she was killed.
Wishhasad Somawansa, 21, left the house after being called by police to assist with the aftermath of a brawl in nearby Wyndham Vale.
A family friend discovered Mrs Somawansa’s body after her husband, a long-haul truck driver, raised the alarm because he could not reach her on the phone.
Baea said only two words during his brief court appearance: “yes” and “guilty”.
He will face the Victorian Supreme Court for a directions hearing on Friday.
Mrs Somawansa’s husband and son declined to comment outside court.
