A TEEN thug who escaped from Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre has bragged on Facebook of his breakout.

A TEEN thug who escaped from Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre has bragged on Facebook of his breakout.

The escapee posted last night that he had escaped.

Friends commented asking what the youth meant.

One friend replied to the posts saying the escapee had left Malmsbury.

Later posts from family members encouraged the teen to hand himself in.

Another post from a relative late this morning appeared to indicate the escapee was among four youths arrested at an address in Ambon St, Ashburton this morning.
