Aunt Kelly Anne Murphy said the family was bracing to tell him she was murdered and that his father, Troy Boothey, is the prime suspect.
“We have to tell him the truth soon but we are scared about how he will react,” she said.
“How do you tell a little boy that? It’s the hardest thing.
“We don’t want Noah growing up thinking this is the way the world is.”
Boothey, an ice addict with a history of serious violence, was released from jail on unrelated matters earlier this year.
He was considered the prime suspect early in the murder probe.

Ms Murphy-West feared for her life in the year before her death.
She sent a series of texts to a friend from hospital confessing she had been choked in front of her son.
“So now he’s going to kill me,” she texted from Casey Hospital in September, 2012
“I’m not only doing this for me and Noah, I am doing it for him. He bashed me, choked me today. I can’t have that in front of my son.”
Detectives believe Ms Murphy-West’s body was manipulated by her killer to appear as a suicide.
Boothey was jailed for a violent drug-fuelled rampage which occurred a month after his girlfriend’s death.
Her family say they will never stop until an arrest is made.
Her uncle Shannon Murphy warned anyone who knows about her death or is protecting her killer to come forward.
“We will never give up,” he said.
The Homicide Squad is continuing to probe her death.
