Killarney Beach drowning: woman in her 40s died

A WOMAN has died at Killarney Beach, west of Warrnambool, this afternoon.

A WOMAN has died after being pulled from the water by her friend at Killarney Beach.

The deceased, aged in her 40s, is yet to be formally identified.

She was dragged from the ocean by her friend about 5:15pm this afternoon.

Passer-bys performed CPR on the woman but she died at the scene.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
