A DEPRAVED Melbourne computer geek who created a virus to post child pornography on the Facebook accounts of students must serve at least four years in jail.
Sex pest Kenneth Palliser, of Mitcham, was sentenced to six years in prison for the sickening offence, which saw unsuspecting teenagers subjected to vile images.
The County Court heard the 62-year old pervert also created a sinister fake online Myki survey, which when accessed launched 45 images of children being abused.
The pedophile had just completed a 12-month suspended prison sentence over another sick child porn campaign when he committed the 2010 crimes.
In avoiding jail the first time, the former Telstra employee printed and placed child porn images in shops and a toilet where unsuspecting children stumbled upon them.
The unrepentant pervert went to trial over his latest offences when he pleaded not guilty to three charges of using a carriage service to transmit child pornography, two counts of modifying data to commit an offence and three of knowingly possessing child pornography.
He later pleaded guilty to failing to comply with his reporting obligations as a sex offender.
The court heard the IT expert carefully planned his warped porn campaign using a lifetime of computer skills he had honed through Telstra and later through his own consultancy company.
When police arrested him, Palliser was in the process of developing a screen saver that would carry the dirty virus.
In sentencing, Judge Gabriele Cannon described Palliser as a depraved individual who was involved in an “evil trade’’.
She condemned him for targeting unsuspecting individuals and said he only had a “fair’’ chance of rehabilitation.
Palliser has already spent 124 days behind bars.
