A 17-year-old boy has been arrested over a suspicious house fire in Melbourne’s east this morning.
The fire is alleged to have been lit when the 17-year-old broke into the empty home on Leoni Ave at Heathmont about 3.15am.

The teen, from Heathmont, was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody with minor injuries.
It comes after a neighbour said he was woken by multiple “explosions” and residents rushed onto the street to see what was happening.
“There was glass breaking and the flames were a couple of metres above the roof with embers landing in our backyard,” the man, who did not want to be named, told the Herald Sun.
He said the homeowner was a woman who spent a lot of time in Bendigo.
More than 20 firefighters brought the blaze under control within 22 minutes.
The occupants of the house were not home at the time of the fire and no one was injured apart from the teen, police said.
