Police arrived at the Edwardes St home about 8.30pm after four gatecrashers jumped a rear fence at the home.

They were asked to leave by security, before attacking a female security guard. The gatecrashers then fled by jumping over the back fence.

A security guard, who was working at the party, was treated for a minor injury after she was left with a bloodied face.

Another male security guard was seen by the Sunday Herald Sun carrying an ice pack.

Partygoer Salz said the gatecrashers had “dark skin”.

“We saw people going in, they started hitting people,” he said. “They were all guys, there was a lot of them. They had dark skin.

“They knocked the whole fence. All the girls were screaming. They were hitting anyone they saw.

“There were 20 of them. They would’ve been on something.

“The police handled it well, they surrounded the party straight away, they had a guy in handcuffs.”

The social media event page said “Drink before party” but it’s understood there was no alcohol allowed at the party and stringent bag checks were performed, with parents also in attendance.

Partygoers told the Sunday Herald Sun there were around 70 invited guests and around 20 gatecrashers.

Police, including the air wing and public order response team, attended the scene and were telling partygoers to move on after the party had dissipated.

A 14-year-old partygoer, said there was a “punch-on” at the house.

“There was a punch-on and then the fence got kicked in,” she said.

Homeowners were seen taking photos of damaged property including a damaged fence and a pole but told the Sunday Herald Sun they had no comment.

“Nothing’s happening, it’s all over. Too late,” a man said. “There was no punch-on. There was no party here.”

“The exact details surrounding the event are being investigated,” Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said.

“Police remained in the area and monitored the behaviour of party goers as they left with no further incidents.”

It’s understood people headed into the nearby Edwardes Lake Park after they left the party.
