Specialist fugitive hunters have joined the search for fight night shooting suspect Ali El Nasher.
It is three months today since young father Ben Togiai was shot dead and two other men wounded outside a boxing event at the Melbourne Pavilion in Kensington.
El Nasher, 28, disappeared immediately after the fatal March 1 bloodshed and has been in hiding since.
His brother Abdullah, 25-year-old Mikhael Myko and a third man have been arrested and charged over the incident.
Members of the Victoria Police fugitive taskforce are now working with the anti-gangs Echo taskforce to find the dangerous El Nasher.
Police have warned he should not be approached by the public.
El Nasher has done prison time for serious violent crime in the past and is known to be well-connected in Melbourne’s Middle-Eastern organised crime sphere.
“Victoria Police understands the community concern in relation to this incident and would like to reassure Victorians that arresting El Nasher remains a top priority,” a spokeswoman said.
A series of early morning raids was made in April across Melbourne as part of the hunt for El Nasher.
Some of the warrants are believed to have been issued at the homes of known associates of the runaway.
Investigators searched properties at Endeavour Hills, Westmeadows, Preston, Pascoe Vale, Keilor East, Meadow Heights, Truganina, Mickleham, Glenroy and Safety Beach.
Police have sought help from interstate counterparts
Ali El Nasher has contacts in New South Wales and his brother and Mr Myko were arrested in Sydney in April.
Abdullah El Nasher and a 26-year-old Coburg man arrested last month have been charged with Mr Togiai’s murder.
Mr Myko is facing a count of attempted murder.
Police have urged anyone who sees El Nasher to not approach him but contact triple-0 immediately.
