FORMER Health Services Union boss Kathy Jackson will fight theft and fraud charges over alleged misuse of union funds.
This morning she entered a not guilty plea at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court to 166 charges.

Police allege the one-time whistleblower misrepresented about $500,000 worth of personal expenses as union costs.
Ms Jackson, who travelled from her NSW home for this morning’s court appearance, has elected to go straight to the County Court — giving up her right to a preliminary hearing which had been set down for 10 days.
The case will have its first mention in the County Court tomorrow.
Court documents allege union money was used inappropriately on fancy hotels in Las Vegas, New York and Hong Kong.
A joint operation between federal and Victorian police, Taskforce Heracles, brought the case against her and alleges the money was fraudulently spent between 2003 and 2011.

Ms Jackson appeared relaxed throughout the short hearing, laughing with her legal team moments before formally entering her plea.
She made no comment to the waiting media pack as she left the court.
