Former senior cop charged by anti-corruption body
A former senior policeman has been charged by the state’s top anti-corruption body over allegations he tried to “influence police investigations unrelated to his role”.

A former senior policeman has been charged today by the state’s top anti-corruption body.
The ex-superintendent has been charged with one count of misconduct after an investigation by the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission.
The charge relates to allegations of attempts to “influence police investigations unrelated to his role by accessing information from Victoria Police systems and contacting persons involved in the investigation.”
IBAC had run an operation called Dawson into the matter.
The former officer will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 4.
