Fleeing motorcyclist dumps $1 million of ice in Ashwood front yard

THIS is the moment police stumbled on a backpack containing more than $1 million of ice, which was thrown away by a motorcyclist fleeing officers in Melbourne’s east.

A BACKPACK containing more than $1 million of ice was allegedly thrown away by a motorcyclist fleeing police in Melbourne’s east.

Police were doing routine patrols in Ashwood when they approached a 26-year-old man on a BMW motorbike about 3am on Wednesday.

As officers approached, he left the bike and fled on foot before dumping the backpack in the front yard of a nearby home.

When police retrieved the backpack they found more than 5kg of the drug ice, with a street value of more than $1 million, and $3000 in cash.

The Noble Park man is in custody and being interviewed by police.

Police said the BMW motorbike was stolen.
