POLICE will sift through more than 15,000 conversations caught on listening devices and telephone intercepts as they prepare their case against a Finks bikie boss charged over a home invasion.

The force has so much material they asked the Melbourne Magistrates Court for longer than usual to prepare a brief of evidence.

Wearing a body-hugging white T-shirt, well-built bikie Brent Reker, with heavily tattooed face, head and arms, did not seek bail in a brief appearance in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The court heard Reker, who has a 15-week-old son, was also suffering nose bleeds, had sustained a chest injury that may require surgery and was a risk of self-harm.

The bikie boss hit the headlines in May this year when his former home in Frankston was targeted in a drive-by shooting and has been working to establish the Finks as a force in Victoria.

He was charged as part of an investigation into a home invasion in Hampton Park.

Police allege Reker, in the company of accomplices, entered the home with a tyre iron and assaulted a person he knew at the premises.

Police claim he also threatened to kill his victim’s kids and another person.

Detectives from the anti-bikie Echo Taskforce charged Reker after he was arrested at his property in Karingal Drive, Frankston, shortly after 1.30pm on Wednesday.
