WIFE killer Fernando Paulino has revealed his evil self during a sickening display of heartlessness that saw him dragged from court.

The 56-year old butchered his estranged wife Teresa Paulino in the garage of her mother’s Reservoir home on July 15, 2013.

Paulino was seen grinning like a Cheshire cat as details of a sickening wife murder were read out in court.

The despicable killer, who was only allowed back into his Supreme Court plea hearing after issuing an apology for a callous outburst, could not contain his glee on hearing details on another brutal murder committed by Denis Paul Gojanovic in 2000.

Gojanovic was sentenced in 2002 to serve at least 15-years in jail for bashing his estranged partner’s head in with a rubber mallet before strangling her with a dressing gown cord.

Earlier, Paulino shocked members of his victim’s family when he proclaimed his innocence from the prison dock as his son Luke entered the witness box to deliver his victim impact statement.

“You know I didn’t do it Luke. You know that,” he said.

“You know I wasn’t there. I was in the western suburbs.”

Paulino continued his rant despite warnings from Justice Kevin Bell that he would be removed from the court if he continued.

“It’s tragic. It’s horrific what happened to your mother, but I didn’t do it,” Paulino said.

The killer continued his tirade as guards cuffed and hauled him back to prison.

“It’s wrong. The media. It’s wrong,” he said.

Teresa Paulino died from 16 stab wounds to her chest, stomach and back and had been bashed so ferociously she had a broken jaw and bleeding to the brain.

Paulino was found guilty of her murder after a gruelling trial which carried on for six weeks.

The loving mother of two was murdered days before the couple were to head to court to finalise the end of their unhappy marriage.

Crown Prosecutor Andrew Tinney, SC told the court Paulino was motivated by hatred and a belief he could improve his financial situation by killing her.

Luke Paulino returned to the witness box to face his remorseless father as he read his victim impact statement.

He described his mother as his “rock”, a “loving, selfless soul.”

“Nothing can come close to the difficulty and pain from burying my mother before I even turned 21 and before her beautiful soul could even celebrate her 50th birthday,” he said.

“I love you mum. I am forever grateful for your love and strength. You can finally rest in peace.”
