A man has been charged over an alleged hit-run in southeast Melbourne this morning which left a female cyclist fighting for life.
The woman aged in her 40s suffered head and chest injuries after being hit by the white ute on the Nepean Hwy near Chelsea Rd, Chelsea, about 5.40am on Thursday.
She was taken to the Alfred hospital in a critical condition while the driver allegedly fled.
A 28-year-old Parkdale man was later arrested at Broadmeadows, — about 55km from the crash scene near Chelsea station — and the car found at Seaford at 8.15am.
