THE failed comedian who bragged about defacing murdered woman Eurydice Dixon’s memorial has avoided fronting a magistrate on his first day in court.
Andrew Nolch, 31, turned up at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today where he was due to appear charged with criminal damage, offensive behaviour and making offensive graffiti over lewd graffiti found scrawled on a soccer pitch near where Ms Dixon’s body was found.
But instead of appearing in court, he sought to have his case administratively adjourned by a registrar.
Mr Nolch was seen leaving court this morning.
In a social media post following his arrest, Mr Nolch admitted defacing Ms Dixon’s memorial saying: “I did it because I was upset that vaccines caused the killer’s autism.”
Fire crews used water and brooms to remove the offensive graffiti, some 25m in size.
Park workers covered the remainder of the site with a white material to hide what they could not clean away.
Ms Dixon, a comedian, was attacked and killed as she walked home from a comedy gig in the CBD on June 12.
On the same day thousands gathered at Ms Dixon’s memorial site, Mr Nolch took to social media with a rant against making her death a women’s safety issue.
“The mainstream media is only reporting on murders done by men, which is making people think that all men are crazy scary murderers,” he wrote on June 18.
“It’s like they are making a war of the sexes or something, maybe divide and conquer, but it really does seem like its working and women are angry with men which is ill-founded.
“The mainstream media is running a brainwashing program which is designed to make everyone think that males are bad.
“Any event that comes along they twist the reporting so that average males are made to feel as bad as if they did it.”
Mr Nolch has previously hosted a show on Channel 31, and operates a number of self-made projects, including a Scientology podcast.
His social media accounts reveal lengthy posts about conspiracy theories and aliens.
Jaymes Todd, 19 of Broadmeadows, is charged with Ms Dixon’s rape and murder.
