The alleged spree started with an aggravated burglary in Moody Street in Caulfield North near Caulfield High School about 8pm.

The man attempted to steal a car in that vicinity.

He then moved on foot about 650m to Craigavad Street off Dandenong Road and attempted to carjack a vehicle.

A second aggravated burglary took place on Mile End Road in Carnegie about 8.30pm and the alleged thief successfully stole a car from that location.
