Jamieson tradie Bryce Airs suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a car while walking home from the local pub on the Mansfield-Woods Point Road on 25 November.

Passers-by and emergency services rushed to Mr Airs aid, who was found crawling along the road about midnight, but were unable to save the 43-year-old.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have released CCTV footage of a high clearance 4WD driving on the Mansfield-Woods Point Road between Jamieson and Kevington shortly after the deadly crash.

Images suggest this vehicle is fitted with a bull bar, snorkel style air intake on the driver’s side and spotlights.

Earlier Mr Airs’ sister made an emotional plea for the cowardly driver to hand himself in.

Corina Stuchbree said the world has lost a generous man.

“He was a great brother, he was a great uncle, a fantastic father and a great son,” Ms Stuchbree said.

“It is heartbreaking to watch your parents lose a child ... to watch my mum and dad have to go through what they’re going through, I would not wish that upon anybody,” she said.

Mr Airs was meant to be starting a new job in the Philippines before his life was cut short walking the 1km home from Jamieson’s Courthouse Hotel.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said traffic in the area was rare and any vehicles fitting the description travelling in the area at the time will be of interest to investigators.

“Investigators would like to identify and speak to the driver of the vehicle as he/she may have critical information to the investigation,” Ms Batty said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
