MYSTERY surrounds how a cyclist was found lying on the road critically injured at an intersection in Melbourne’s north, with police yet to find any witnesses despite believing a number of people may have been in the area at the time.

MYSTERY surrounds how a cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in Melbourne’s northeast.
The 22-year-old man by passers-by shortly before 7.30pm, lying down with his bicycle on Grimshaw St at the intersection of Peters St in Watsonia.
It is unknown how he sustained the injuries, believed to be life-threatening.
He was taken to hospital, where he remains.
Victoria Police believe a number of people may have been in the area at the time.
