A MAN charged this month with assaulting his wife and keeping her prisoner has now been charged with killing her.

A MAN charged this month with assaulting his wife and keeping her prisoner has now been charged with killing her.

Mohamed Naddaf, 37, of Craigieburn, was charged with killing his wife Ashleigh Brown, 25.

Naddaf, was initially charged on November 7 with assault and false imprisonment after Ms Brown was found dead at their home earlier this month.

Police laid a fresh charged against Naddaf over his wife’s death

“The accused at Craigieburn between 2nd of November and 6th of November 2016 did kill Ashleigh brown,” charged sheets release by the court said.

Dozens of Ms Brown’s relatives were in court.

The Melbourne Magistrates’ Court heard Naddaf is suffering from a mental illness.

Nadaf was remanded in custody to reappear on April 18.
