ARMED police have descended upon Melbourne Central with guns drawn this morning after reports of a man with a knife surfaced.
Transit police entered the popular CBD shopping centre via Lonsdale Street.
A passerby tweeted “police just ran in with guns drawn”.
Officers questioned and searched a 40-year-old Boronia man, finding a knife.
The man was issued an infringement notice for possessing a controlled weapon.
