CANCER fake and wellness blogger Belle Gibson has been given one last chance after failing to front court or file a defence over claims she cured herself of terminal illness.

A JUDGE has given cancer fake Belle Gibson one last chance to defend the allegations against her after she failed to appear in court this morning.

The Whole Pantry founder, who built her health and wellness empire on her false claim that she had terminal brain cancer, appears to have no legal representation and has not filed a defence to the Federal Court.

Justice Debbie Mortimer asked Catherine Button, representing Consumer Affairs Victoria, if Ms Gibson had been excused from today’s case management hearing.

“We didn’t know until today she wouldn’t be attending,” Ms Button said.

When Justice Mortimer asked how they wanted to proceed, Ms Button said they would still seek the injunction against Ms Gibson whether she is involved in the proceedings or not “due to the public interest” in the matter.

Justice Mortimer said: “They are serious allegations and I want Ms Gibson to know the consequences (if she doesn’t take part in these proceedings).

“I want to give Ms Gibson one further opportunity to file a notice of address for service and a defence.”

Justice Mortimer has given Consumer Affairs Victoria until next Friday, June 17, to serve papers on Ms Gibson ordering her to file the legal documents required.

Ms Gibson has been given until 4pm on July 10 to comply.
