POLICE have confirmed that shots were fired at a high-profile nightclub in Melbourne’s inner east last week.
Investigators have attended Boutique Nightclub in Greville St, Prahran, and seized CCTV from the area following the shooting last Thursday.
Darren ‘Razzle’ Thornburgh, who owns the club, has denied a shooting took place.
But Victoria Police spokeswoman Amara Bostock said: “Police are investigating after a firearm was discharged in Greville St, Prahran, at 1.30am on October 6.
“Police have spoken to the property owner and the investigation continues.”
Last Friday Victoria Police said that no official report had been made but inquires were underway.
Bullet holes were visible on the front door as well as the window on the first level of the club.
There was also damage to the first level of neighbouring Palate cafe.
Mr Thornburgh does not believe his club was shot at.
“A window was smashed which happens on a regular basis,” he said.
“It was another day in the office, it happens all the time. People throw s*** all the time at the joint.”
Detectives were seen last week searching a nearby drain on Greville St.
Mr Thornburgh has confirmed business will go ahead as usual for the club.
