The charges come as Missing Persons Squad detectives were searching for missing man Nathan Day, who hasn’t been seen for more than a month.
Mr Day, 34, was last seen at an address on Morrell St, Wangaratta, on July 26.
The missing persons squad found a body, yet to be formally identified, at a property on Ryan Ave, Wangaratta, on Wednesday afternoon.
The body was found less than a kilometre from King River, where police and SES crews had been searching for Mr Day.
The exact cause of death is yet to be determined and police will await the results of a post-mortem.
The two men, aged 59 and 42, both from Wangaratta, have been charged with one count of murder each and remanded in custody to appear at the Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court later this morning.
