RESIDENTS living near where a body was found in Melbourne’s outer northwest have described their shock as homicide detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A MAN’S body has been found in Bulla, near Sunbury, this afternoon.
The body was discovered on Sunbury Rd about midday.
The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined.
A crime scene has been established and the homicide squad is investigating.
Footage from a news helicopter shows a rifle lying on the ground near the man’s body.
In the distance homicide detectives could be seen under floodlights trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Police cars blocked the entrance to the property along with several vehicles, understood to be the man’s family and friends’.
Residents on Thursday night spoke of their shock following the discovery.
“It’s a sleepy town,” one local told the Herald Sun.
“We love living here, it’s peaceful and it’s quiet and this stuff doesn’t happen here.”
