A BASEBALL bat was used in a violent brawl between more than a dozen youths in Collingwood this afternoon.

Police were called to a Hoddle St park about 3.30pm after reports of a brawl between youths of African appearance.

Police said a baseball bat was used during the fight, which was broken up by police using capsicum spray.

Listeners told radio station 3AW they saw two groups of about 15 youths fighting in the park.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

It came after hundreds of youths were involved in rolling street brawls at St Kilda’s foreshore on Thursday evening.

No arrests were made following the St Kilda incidents.
