Two elderly people from NSW have died, two people have been injured and a baby survived unscathed following a horror collision in regional Victoria yesterday.

An elderly pair from NSW have been identified as the victims of yesterday’s tragic double fatal collision in western Victoria.
A man and woman, both aged 73, from Lindfield East in Sydney’s upper north shore died when their Mitsubishi collided with a Hyundai wagon containing a nine-month-old baby and two women at Cressy, 120km west of Melbourne, about 3.15pm.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have returned to the scene on the Hamilton Highway today to piece together how the crash occurred.
The Hyundai driver, a 56-year-old Bannockburn woman, remains in hospital in a critical condition.
She was trapped in the wreckage when emergency crews arrived.
She was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Her 25-year-old Bannockburn rear seat passenger was also flown to hospital with serious injuries.
She remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A nine-month-old baby boy, who was in a child restraint in the back seat of the vehicle, was uninjured.

The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions at the time of the crash.
Investigators urge anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of either vehicle prior to the collision to come forward.
