The second victim of Monday night’s double homicide in Meadow Heights was 40-year-old father Deniz Hasan.

Friends have paid tribute to Hasan on social media, who died after emergency services were called about 10.15pm on Monday after reports of multiple gunshots.

“Rest in paradise … you didn’t deserve to be murdered. My prayers go to your family and daughters,” one friend wrote on Facebook.

Hasan died close to where Ali Ali, 28, was also gunned down.

Ali has previously been pictured playing around with various guns and automatic weapons.

In a series of pictures posted on Facebook, Ali is seen posing with an array of lethal weapons.

One picture shows him staring at the camera wearing a blue vest as he holds a silver handgun in front of a table with bullets lined up.

Another image shows him pointing an assault rifle in a street in broad daylight while another shows him aiming a gun at the camera.

And another photograph shows Ali sitting behind the wheel of a car holding a handgun in his right hand with another firearm on the seat next to him.

Friends have paid tribute to Ali, who died after emergency services were called to Meadow Heights about 10.15pm on Monday after reports of multiple gun shots.

A childhood friend of Ali, Kayla Collins, told the Herald Sun: “I’ve known him and his brother since I was a kid, he was such a nice man. He did everything for his family … He grew up in Broadmeadows and Meadow Heights.”

Another friend, Jayde Cousins, said: “Ali was a kind hearted person always had time for his family and friends and was always there to lend a hand.”

One of the victims from Monday’s shooting was found in Huntly Court with another man also discovered nearby in Morris Court, both suffering gunshot wounds.

Witnesses said one of the victims had been wheeled around screaming for help in a shopping trolley in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.

It was the third fatal shooting in the space of just four days in Melbourne, with police yet to make any arrests.

Mitat Rasimi was shot dead in a car which had crashed into a pole in Dawn Ave, Dandenong, about 9.55pm on Sunday.

And labourer Ben Togiai, 30, was gunned down outside a boxing event at the Melbourne Pavilion in Kensington about 10pm on Friday.

Detectives are working round the clock in a bid to solve the murders, which they are treating as unrelated.

“At this stage there is no evidence to suggest that the shooting in Meadow Heights is linked to two other separate shooting incidents in Kensington and Dandenong in recent days,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

The suspects from the Kensington shooting — Mikhael Myko and brothers Ali and Abdullah El Nasher — remain on the run.

Police do not believe they managed to skip the country in the hours following Friday night’s shooting.

Detectives are looking into possible outlaw motorcycle gang links in the murder of former Tony Mokbel associate Mitat Rasimi.

The Albanian-born Rasmimi, who served jail time after being convicted of being part of Mokbel’s drug empire, was ambushed in Dandenong on Sunday night and fatally wounded in a hail of bullets.

The Herald Sun has been told some members of the largely law-abiding Albanian community in the Dandenong area had been recruited to the Comanchero in recent years.

That gang has a strong influence across a range of suburbs in the area, including Dandenong, Hampton Park, Hallam and Narre Warren.

Police have spoken of the high number of guns in criminals hands in recent years.

One officer said it was once a rarity to pull over a vehicle and recover a firearm.

“Now it’s commonplace. Now it’s run-of-the-mill. It’s insane,” he said.

The same officer said police were having to rethink their approach to raids because of the risk of drug-trafficking targets having weapons.

Some of those dealers were already on edge because of the number of home invasion drug rip-offs committed by other criminals.

“You’ve got crooks out there who think we’re doing the run-through,” he said.
